I know this is a bit late, I may well have posted this elsewhere, but Blancmange are to release a new album on the 7th of March, and to coincide with the release they will be playing a small number of dates in the UK -

NEWS : Mick Karn loses his battle with cancer :( :( :(

It is very sad news that Mick Karn former bass player for Japan and founding member of Dali's Car, has lost his battle with cancer, he was only 52. As well as being a musician he was also a sculptor and photographer.

He has also played with many artists including Gary Numan, Kate Bush and Joan Armatrading to name a few. It had been reported last year that he had been diagnosed with advanced cancer, I had been hoping that he would be able to overcome it, as I am sure many others hoped. Cancer is, as I have said before one of the most cruelest diseases man kind faces, and much more effort should be put into finding cures.

News : Trevor Horn made CBE

While most of the time the New Year Honours are awarded to the usual types - mp's directors etc, this year is no exception except one honour in particular stands out, it is so nice to see Trevor Horn awarded a CBE in this years New Year Honours, he has, by far been one of the most influential record producers of the last 30 years, from Franke Goes To Hollywood to Robbie Williams and everything in-between. A truly well deserved award :). (another notable award was Annie Lennox becoming an OBE).

2010

Well the year is almost over, I got to see some great shows in 2010, some events were a little sad such as a-ha as a group being no more, their show was great and hopefully I will get around to posting some pictures I captured of the event.

Here is to 2011 and hopefully some more great shows (I should be seeing Gary Numan and Recoil in Manchester early next year - it being rescheduled from this year) and to great music - it's a little harder to find amongst all the tat around nowadays, but it is out there.
