While I am writing this I am saddened that to learn that Justin Tumberlunk's new album has pushed David Bowie off the top slot, a sad reflection, I am afraid of the state of the music industry.

For those in the UK, or those with access to BBC Four, the channel has been airing some interesting music programmes, among them The Joy Of The Single, Ultimate Number 1's at the BBC - featuring performances from T-Rex, The Bee Gees and more, it does get a little talentless towards the end featuring a handful of todays artists, but this can be forgiven for the many great performances from the era when the single really was king. The pick of the bunch for me, however has to be Sound It Out - a documentary portrait of one of the last independently trading vinyl record shops in Teeside.
