NEW RELEASE : John Foxx

D.N.A., a new double disc, CD & DVD release by John Foxx, which is exclusively available through Townsend Records. This features unique collaborations between Foxx and some of his favourite film-makers, with all of the short movies on the DVD being made especially for this project.

Collaborations aplenty including Harold Budd, Ruben Garcia, Steve D'Agostino and ex-Japan percussionist Steve Jansen.

The cd features all the music for the films plus tracks that Foxx had recorded as 'possibilities' for soundtracks. Featuring stunning artwork designed by Jonathan Barnbook, who has previously worked with Damien Hirst and also David Bowie, designing the sleeve and inner booklet for his Heathen album in 2002.

NEW RELEASE : John Foxx

May 3rd will see the release of Metatronic (30th Anniversary Collection), a three disc set focusing on the more atmospheric, electronic side of John Foxx's work, it will shortly be joined by a second collection, "Metadelic", that will feature his more romantic, psychedelic material.

The three disc set features promo videos, including for the first time on DVD, "Underpass" and "He's A Liquid".

In other news, John Foxx will also be playing a one-off analogue synthesizer show at the Roundhouse, London on the 5th of June to celebrate three decades as a solo artist, and he will be joined by a number of very special guests.

NEW RELEASES : JOHN FOXX & LOUIS GORDON

Good news for John Foxx fans, Metamatic Records will be re-pressing "A New Kind Of Man", the album features 17 tracks recorded from the 2007 Metamatic Tour, plus B-sides and rarities, artwork will be different to that of the original 1000 copies that sold out last year.

There will be re-issues of the John Foxx/Louis Gordon albums "Shifting City" and "The Pleasures of Electricity", the recent Foxx/Gordon album "Impossible" will be re-pressed (the original limited edition having been deleted on the 21st of September, the re-pressing will feature a remixed version of "A Million Cars" which features a quieter vocal melody than the original release.

Finally, the double CD live album "In The Glow" which was recorded on the 1983 "Golden Section" Tour will be re-issued.

All the above are due for release on the 19th October.

NEW RELEASE : The Quiet Man - John Foxx

You can now pre-order John Foxx - The Quiet Man from Townsend Records.
It is due for release on the 27th July.

"This spoken word album runs for just under an hour and features Justin Barton's voiceover on five Quiet Man stories written by John Foxx. The CD also includes new piano music written and performed by Foxx especially for this release, along with a 16 page booklet of new B&W images by the artist.

'The origins of the novel are firmly cinematic,' states Foxx of his ongoing Quiet Man project. 'I found an old grey suit in a charity shop in the 1970s. Over the years, I got some friends to wear the suit in various locations in London. I filmed them just walking or sitting in cafes or apartments. As I did this, The Quiet Man story began to emerge. It's about London becoming overgrown, about the suit being alive somehow, and the way cities can alter us – and our memories.'"


John Foxx will be making an appearance at the Apple Store, Regent Street, London on Friday the 24th July at 5pm BST, John will read extracts from The Quiet Man with an introduction by Mark Gatiss from the League Of Gentlemen. It is a free event.
