NEWS : Vienna for No 1 Campaign

Unfortunately Vienna didn't get to No 1, despite making it to No1 in a number of download charts for different outlets. Vienna did however get to No 113 in the UK charts, and the recently released Return to Eden live CD made it to No 75.

While Vienna didn't make it to No 1, it was still a good effort and on the bright side it did beat "Shaddap you face".

NEW RELEASE : Hot Chip

Hot Chip will be releasing their new single "I Feel Better" on April 18th, and you can catch the video for the single here.

You will be able to pick up a limited 7" (only 1000 pressed worldwide) which is released exclusively for UK Record Store Day (17th April) featuring the single mix of 'I Feel Bonnie' - the only place this track will be available - and brand new Hot Chip track 'Bear Witness'.

This will be in all good record shops a day before the general release of 'I Feel Better' and the 7" will come in a vintage-designed Parlophone paper house bag with jukebox-style centre-hole.

NEW RELEASE : John Foxx

May 3rd will see the release of Metatronic (30th Anniversary Collection), a three disc set focusing on the more atmospheric, electronic side of John Foxx's work, it will shortly be joined by a second collection, "Metadelic", that will feature his more romantic, psychedelic material.

The three disc set features promo videos, including for the first time on DVD, "Underpass" and "He's A Liquid".

In other news, John Foxx will also be playing a one-off analogue synthesizer show at the Roundhouse, London on the 5th of June to celebrate three decades as a solo artist, and he will be joined by a number of very special guests.

Vienna For UK No.1 Campaign

A 2010 FaceBook campaign to see Ultravox finally get a UK no.1 with 'Vienna' is gaining momentum, almost thirty years on from the time that it was held off the top spot by both John Lennon and Joe Dolce.

The campaign's founder Martin Slade isn't particularly an Ultravox fan; he became interested in how the two songs seemed to be forever remembered together and felt that there might be a chance to remedy this.

Martin started the FaceBook group in June 2009 and originally planned to aim the campaign for 2011, 30 years since the single was released - but following Rage Against the Machine's successful campaign in December 2009, thought it best to surf that momentum and move it up to 2010. Interestingly, Joe Dolce himself has launched a rival campaign in a bid to repeat history...
